This past week at Leonia High School was full of energy, learning, and collaboration. From classroom projects to creative activities, our students and staff have shown dedication, curiosity, and teamwork that make our school community so special.
Looking ahead, we have a short week with a half day on Wednesday, followed by Thanksgiving break on Thursday and Friday. We hope everyone enjoys this time to relax, celebrate, and spend time with family and friends.
We are grateful for our students, staff, and families. Thank you for making LHS such a wonderful place to learn and grow.
GO LIONS!

The Limelighters are excited to bring The Puffs to the stage this month.
For seven years, a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs...who just happened to be there too. A tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world.
If you would like to reserve a ticket during pre-sale, please email camryn.bernstein@leoniaschools.org for more information. We hope to see you there!

Students in Ms. Kelty’s Conversations in Humanities II class recently stepped into the shoes of historians during a highlights tour at the New York Historical Society. They analyzed objects, works of art, and historical documents, exploring how historians study the past and uncover stories from real artifacts. This hands-on experience not only made history come alive but also sharpened their critical thinking skills.

A reminder for families: all students are required to use their district-issued Chromebooks while in school. Students should bring their Chromebooks to school every day, fully charged and ready for use. Please note that personal laptops or MacBooks may not be used during the school day.
If a student forgets their Chromebook at home, they will not be issued a loaner. Loaner devices are reserved only for students whose district-issued Chromebook is undergoing repair.
Additionally, to help maintain a focused learning environment:
- Cell phones, AirPods, and headphones may not be used during instructional time.
- Meta glasses and other smart glasses are not permitted at any time.
Thank you for partnering with us to ensure students are prepared and focused during the school day.

On Monday and Tuesday, students in AP Psychology recreated a famous experiment by Elizabeth Loftus on the misinformation effect and the fallibility of memory. They watched a video of a car crash and then graphed their estimates of the cars’ speeds, analyzing how the wording of questions influenced their perceptions. The class also explored two different ways to visualize the data and participated in a demonstration showing how false memories can be constructed. Using evidence from these activities, students formed arguments supporting the fallibility of memory, practicing skills similar to those required on the AP exam.
